Basingstoke Young Carers Project
We support children and young people aged 8-18yrs who care for a family member with a long term illness or disability.
- Our aim is to better identify young carers and provide support for young carers to develop emotionally and physically, as well as to take full advantage of opportunities for educational achievement and life success. We also provide information and support to the family to ensure they have all the support and help they need.
|We do this by:
- Providing 3 Young Carer youth Clubs and offer the chance for the young carer to take a break from their caring responsibilities by providing activities, information, support and guidance to the young person and their families. Our youth clubs are run Monday nights 6-8pm (School years 10, 11 & College), Wednesday nights 4:30-6pm (School years 4, 5 & 6), and Wednesday nights 6-8pm (School years 7, 8 & 9).

Through our request for service form, we work in partnership with schools, colleges, local council departments, doctors and many more, to ensure that young carers are identified and supported.
